Interlude pt. 2 – Mod list for our Dragon Age 2 Playthrough

5. June 2016 0 comments Article Dragon Age, Dragon Age 2, Gaming, Mods, Tipps and Tricks Anna

Mods

Both of us have some sort of combination from that list. There is no mod manager for DA2. Everything goes into the Override Folder. Some of these mods have several customisation Options, check the mod description before dumping your files into your mod folder. Also, when it comes to cosmetics you will probably have several chargenmorph files that you need to combine into one. Same as in DAO. I recommend to make separate sub folders for every mod you put into your override folder. It makes de-installing mods much easier and gives you a better overview of what you have installed.

Character Creration:

CharGenMorph Compiler – necessary when you use any character creation influencing mods
CharGen Revamp – better character creator. needs additional files (look at the description) and if you want your family to look like you you need to delete the “optional files” folder after installing. Otherwise you’ll get a white washed default Hawke family.
Strong Skin Colours – gives you better dark skin that doesn’t miraculously get three shades lighter in game all the time
Vibrant Hair – more and better haircolours
Vibrant Colours – more and better colours for everything else
Vibrant Eyes – it’s kinda in the name
Wyld Tats and Skins – Tattoos and more skin options
SG Beauty Shop – More hair options for male and female characters
Black hair is black – none of this washed out stuff
Hairstyles – even more  hair
Freckles – !!! (super essential mod imo 😉 )
Hawke animation swap – change the female idle animation
No more bloody teeth – as it says on the can

Companions:

Awakening Anders – If you like Anders Awakening looks more
The Fenris Files – Wonderful Fenris mod, mostly better textures that really are worth it
Original Merrill – Restores Merrill to a look a bit closer to her concept art
Better hands – be less creeped out by your significant other
No follower autolevel – if you dislike the engine making choices for you
Equip your party – equip your followers like in DAO
Diversified follower armours – more armours in game that are based on your companions default looks

Textures

DA2 Ultimate HD – Really high resolution textures (needs LAA)
LAA (Large Address Aware Patch) – Makes the game able to use more than 2GB of ram
Various Armours and Recolours – I just linked the entire category bc this is really a taste issue

Gameplay

Fake Prologue Overhaul – If you don’t like you Hawke being completely white washed
No Sebastian Crisis – changes the ooc moment towards the end of the game
Anders Romance Overhaul – waaaay better than before
All Items Evolve – now it doesn’t matter when you do the DLCs, the Items will still be usefull
Ability Overhaul – a bit like combat tweaks for DAO
Story Mode – For those who just want so see the story and dislike fighting
Additional Quickbars – For the MMO Players that want to reach more abilities with keystrokes
Faster and/or slower leveling – for all your needs

Cheats

Lockbash – no need to bring a rogue everywhere
Valuable Junk – no more money issues ever
