Of Stars and Dragons
We had some lovely comments last week (thank you again, Helen! :D) asking after our DAI-runthrough. And we can promise: it will come.
Just not quite yet.
Both Anna and I are pretty involved in SWTOR at the moment and we created something similar to our Letters from Thedas, which basically kickstarted this blog. We both had so much fun connecting our characters that we wanted to do something similar for our SWTOR characters. And so, Letters from the Force was born. While the letters from Thedas were each written from heroines living through the same story and thus basically each in another universe, both characters writing the letters from the Force are in the same universe, experiencing the same story at the same time from different point-of-views.
The basic headcanon is that Shiwon (Anna’s Sith Inquisitor) and Jiune (my Jedi Knight) grew up together on Tython and Jedi-trained. At 16, Shiwon’s Jedi Master was killed and she was sold into slavery – and later freed and trained Sith. Jiune fulfilled her training as Jedi Knight (abandoning a diplomatic career after Shiwon’s disappearance) and they met by accident on Nar Shadaa, restarting their friendship and challenging each other’s views on basically everything. It is very much fun to write and, we hope, as much fun to read. Tell us what you think! 🙂
Since we’re having so much fun with SWTOR at the moment AND the new storyline is coming in December, we decided to keep focused on SWTOR instead of dividing our attention between Star Wars and Thedas. We are however already planning our Dragon Age Inquisition runthrough and it’ll be similar to our Dragon Age Origins Approach. We’re both gonna play Lavellan with different romances who’ll write to each other. Then, the Letters from Thedas will get new content as well. The DAI runthrough will probably come some time in early 2017.
You will read more of our thoughts on Star Wars and the new storyline, so don’t worry – there will be content until then. We were also lucky to get a new guest writer whom you’ll “meet” soon and who will share some insights about her TESO experience and her approach to MMOs and games in general. I’m really looking forward to this, as she is an avid RPG player!
If you are interested in sharing some of your gaming experiences on our blog as well, don’t hesitate to contact us! We’re looking forward to hearing from you.
Meanwhile, make sure to follow us on Twitter! There is a lot going on there. Especially if you’re interested in following some gaming content and comments while we’re playing, this might be fun for you.
Hihi, thanks for mentioning me 😀 Don’t want to bother you with my questions, I like the Star Wars content also a lot! Yay, a guest writer 🙂
An introduction post to the force-letters was important for me to get some background, so thank you. Until this point I was a little bit without orientation with the letters bc of my lacking experience with SWTOR. But reading without playing (and thinking about playing when there is enough time for me) is also a nice thing.
